Ampelmaenchen are creatures in stories for German children. There is a green and a red one. They live inside traffic lights (?) and are resonsible for changing the lights.
I'm bored with the Ampelmännchen. What Berlin needs is the international standard traffic light, dragging eastern road crossings kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
talking about ampelfrauchen? mmmh, changing their
color all the time. some walk if they should not,
others stand still when there is the possibilty of moving. sometimes, green is red and confusion
likes to take place. tell children not to look at this. checking real surroundings is more relevant than to wait for a light.
