Think how much fun it would be to dance in the weightlessness of space!
Ideally you do this without spilling your drink. In nightclubs where conventional social activities such as conversation are rendered impossible by intoxication, darkness and deafening noise, dance provides a viable if limited alternative. More generally, dance is what sport would be like if all the referees were fanatic aesthetes.
To leap about to the sound of various noises, usually with your arms around your neighbor's wife or daughter. Dancing is conspicuously innocent, but relished by the vicious.
Often, the most expressive dances are those without a partner.
