Oh yes, there is powerful evidence that Shakespeare sometimes liked to call himself Will. In one of his sonnets (to the Dark Lady, I think), he has a wonderful verbal joke about '...having your Will, and Will to boot and Will in overplus'!! Splendid fellow a Will by any other name would be one of the world's greatest poets and greatest playwright.

Shakespeare is often referred to as 'Will.'
But to my knowledge there are no documents to support this diminutive form of William for the playwright.
He might have been called 'Liam,' 'Wim' or for all we know 'Bingo' or 'Skip' or 'Mikey.'
His surname was pronounced 'shack-spur,' by the way....
